Lessons Startup Companies must learn from Covid - 19 by Dena Falken

TOP THREE LESSONS, STARTUP COMPANIES MUST LEARN FROM COVID-19 Dena Falken None of us imagined a year ago what we would have to face in just a few months, none of us imagined our everyday work to be done mostly or completely online. Hundreds of Thousands of deaths and counting, staggering unemployment numbers nationwide, There is no doubt that the covid has changed our lives in very unimaginable and unprecedented ways. It has been an incredibly tough time for the business across the world, with delayed deals, paused investments, and falling consumer spending becoming all too common. It's now more than a year now in covid and it's clear that it's now more than ever, that the ability to adapt swiftly and successfully is vital for entrepreneurs and business owners. The adjustment any online business had to make to this pandemic has been rough, but ultimately all of their help optimize our workflows and help businesses to be more human-centric in their market approach. Here are the top five lessons experienced by the top companies and how you can learn from them. GO DIGITAL Entrepreneurs cannot rely on a physical location at a tower building but a place open to the public amid a pandemic. Hence, accelerating a digital transformation and pushing businesses to go online is crucial to surviving in a competitive pandemic-hit market. Connecting with customers through social media, virtual communities, influencers, is a must for entrepreneurs looking to establish themselves. Social media is constantly providing new frontiers for businesses to establish themselves online and during challenging times like going digital cannot be an afterthought anymore. HIRE THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND BE FLEXIBLE Hiring the right kind of workforce is the key to a business success story. Candidates with the right kind of experience and flexibility to adapt can be an asset for any organization that is going through a tough time. Business leaders need to be very cognizant of the fact that flexibility is the new trend while hiring and offering employees the freedom to make their work schedules is going to be an unavoidable part of a post-COVID world. Flexible jobs help diversify teams and it's also a great time to hire as redundancies have made available for a larger pool of talent. Entrepreneurs just need to make sure that they are the right people. REINVENT YOURSELF AND YOUR COMPANY At Legal-Ease International we have totally have had to do this. There is no question that we can not come back after a pandemic and staying in lockdown to " business as usual" Lots of companies had to reinvent themselves in various ways, finding new channels to find customers, finding new market opportunities, creating new products to address new needs, modify their manufacturing, innovating new technology or new marketing campaigns. This pandemic was a trigger that forced entrepreneurs understanding that they have to employ creativity and differentiation in everything they do, forcing the business to get out of its comfort zone Dena Falken Esq. How teaching helps you be a better person - - by, Dena Falken

HOW TEACHING CAN HELP YOU UNDERSTAND BETTER? The learning by teaching method has been demonstrated in many studies. Students who spend time teaching what they've learned go on to show better understanding and retention than students who simply spend the same time re-studying. What remains unresolved, however, is exactly why teaching helps the teacher better understand and retain what they've learned. For a new study in Applied Cognitive Psychology researchers led byAloysius WeiLun Koh set out to test their theory that teaching improves the teacher's learning because it compels the teacher to retrieve what they've previously studied. In other words, they believe the learning benefit of teaching is simply another manifestation of the well-known "testing effect"– the way that bringing to mind what we've previously studied leads to the deeper and longer-lasting acquisition of that information than more time spent passively re-studying.Here are the top three ways it helps you become a pro at that topic. BEING A TEACHER IS AN EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE The art of teaching comes from both the brain and the heart. It's a journey that revolves around your ability to connect, inspire and enableyour learners and your colleagues. This also includes the one who will fight you every stepof the way.One of the crucial things to understand about teaching is that people are emotional creatures, we have no idea what another person's journey is all about, it's hard to remember the colleagues resisting change are afraid of losing a career that has sustained them and their family for decades. We don't always consider that a bully could be abused, misunderstood, and needs help too. It's hard to fathom the slow learner with attention issues, maybe painting masterpieces in their spare time. But imagine how our thoughts and attitude would change if we knew these things better YOU MIGHT BE TEACHING THE FUTURE STEVE JOBS AND ELON MUSK It's you who inspires our future innovators and leaders, although children are only a small percentage of the population, they are 100 percent the future. This idea shouldn't scare you.It should inspire you. Every day you nurture the young minds that will one day transform the world we live in, you are their lifeline to success and their mentor for the learning journeys they will take beyond school. You teach them about possibilities and how they can tap their potential to achieve greatness, for themselves and the whole world and you are more than up to the task, to train them even on the day you feel like you're not. CHANGE IN YOU Another one of the most important things to understand about teaching is that change is inevitable. If education is to continue surviving, change will continue to happen that we can't yet fathom. Teaching has shaped itself in a few years,so imagine what the field will be like10 to 20 years after. Do you need to worry about all of this at this very moment?
Of Course not, that would drive everyone crazy, what we need to do is to be prepared to explore it, embrace it, and learn from it. If you've been a teacher for pretty much any length of time, you know how quickly the education landscape is changing My personal experience of teaching legal English has made me a better teacher and a better person. Legal English is important for every individual student and lawyer, if you need any help, feel free to reach out.

Why you should volunteer to make yourself better

WHY SHOULD YOU VOLUNTEER TO MAKE YOURSELF BETTER? By Dena Falken Esq. In the 21st century, the majority of the people are concerned about themselves on one hand, which often looks self-centered but on the other hand, there are several kind souls, who are taking the step forward. With our busy lives, it can be hard to find the time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering can be enormous. Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. The right match can help you find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your careers. I volunteered at Helen Keller institute for the deaf and learned their sign language to communicate with them better. We made wonderful arts and crafts, learned to sign in their hands because they could not see when I look back today. I still remember all the beautiful moments I had before and would still love to go Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it's true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you will experience, volunteering doesn't have to involve a long-term commitment or a huge amount of time out of your busy day. Giving in simple ways can help those in need and improve your health and happiness. Here are four simple ways you can help those in need and improve your health and happiness. THEY NEED YOU! No work is small and volunteers are extremely valuable resources for an organization. whether it's about financial, mental, or physical contribution. Everything matters a lot. Being a volunteer, you can directly get involved with noble work, serving those who need your care and affection. This would also be a chance for you to know that not everyone in this world is born lucky, and you’re needed to stand by a few of them. If not all. YOU LEARN A LOT Volunteering helps you learn things differently about people and culture which leads to your personal and professional growth. Volunteers often discover their hidden talent and passion which directly improves their self-confidence. The community you volunteer within is so great to learn from as they are from different backgrounds with different mindsets. YOU WILL MEET GREAT PEOPLE Volunteering lets you meet people from all walks of life, it gives you the chance to form relationships that can have a lasting impact on your life. You could meet new best friends, future business partners, or have a conversation that sparks a change in your life.WHY SHOULD YOU VOLUNTEER TO MAKE YOURSELF BETTER? YOU WILL HAVE A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE Volunteering abroad can change how you look at the world from your lens. You’’ come into contact with people from different countries, backgrounds, and perspectives daily. This shift in perspective opens your mind to what is truly important and helps to build bridges of understanding

How to deal with Difficult Clients by Dena Falken Esq.

HOW TO DEAL WITH DIFFICULT CLIENTS Dena Falken Esq. Difficult clients are a part of the cost of doing business. Most often, they’re difficult because they’re unhappy with the service you’ve provided. Sometimes, they could simply have a personality that clashes with your company values, or they have expectations that are way out of whack with reality, sometimes, they are simply a bit odd to add. Whether some aspect of your job management cycle doesn’t go according to plan or your client is just having a bad day, you must be prepared to manage angry, emotional, and frustrated clients. Often, difficult or even angry customers aren't expressing frustration with you. These emotions are tied to external situations and psychological stimuli. So, put your great communication skills to work, draw on your superpower of reading the situation and apply the following tips to manage difficult situations and save your customers for a long time. STAY CALM AND PORTRAY POSITIVITY Even if a client is screaming at you down the phone or making a scene in the office, you have to remain cool and collected. If you stoop to their level of hostility, you put your reputation on the line. You get your point across much clearer with a calm tone and stern demeanor. People will often mirror the emotional signals you emit. When you’re angry, you’ll often get an angry response out of someone but if you’re calm, you can often encourage them to be calm. LISTEN Often, a difficult client feels as though the process has run away with them, and they want to be heard. Simply taking the time to listen to their problems without getting defensive could be all that's needed to solve the issue. Make sure your client understands you’re focused on their problem, ask follow-up questions, repeat their statement back to them, and acknowledge that you’ve heard and understood. LET GO OF FEAR OF LOSING CLIENT Fear of negative outcomes drives many of our reactions. Commonly, fear makes us want to control things. If a customer is being difficult, we’re afraid to challenge them because we might risk the relationship. If they express displeasure with your timeline or pricing structure, we’re afraid because we might not be able to fix the situation. Let go of the idea that you need to fix everything, when sitting down, listen to understand and not immediately produce a solution. REPLY TO THEM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE Do you know what doesn't help a difficult client? The passage of time. As soon as the client raises an issue, make it a priority to get it sorted out. When you do this, You validate the client. You’re not accepting the blame, but you’re establishing good communication from the start. GIVE THEM A SOLUTION Again, this isn't admitting you’re wrong, but finding a way to solve the problem for the client without losing your head in the process. If you’re wrong, admit it. Show the client you’ll make amendments and their project back on track. If the client is in the wrong. Then point to the relevant clauses in their contract or letter of agreement and explain that you’re happy to wipe the slate clean, but with a careful outline that they can expect. Dena Falken Esq.

Mental Health Tips for Entrpreneurs

MENTAL HEALTH TIPS FOR ENTREPRENEURS Entrepreneurship is hard and stressful at the best of times. Coming up with an idea, launching your product, keeping your body in shape, and growing your business over time comes with many peaks and valleys but when you’re also dealing with worries about your own and loved ones’ health, financial uncertainty, and the global pandemic.it demands long hours, deep research analysis, and more blood, sweat, and tears than a body should ever be capable of. One moment you’re riding high on your latest successful breakthrough. Next, you’re plunged into the psychic world of failure. Part of this, of course, because regular mental health services have been harder to obtain during quarantine. There are several reasons for this loss of disposable income, concern about the safety of going into a therapist’s office, or inability to access telehealth services, among others Entrepreneurs, in particular, may be more likely to deprioritize mental health services due to the presence of keeping their businesses afloat during this pandemic. Here are the top 5 Tips to start supporting your mental health as well as further support you can follow. Take Care of Yourself. In our modern culture, being constantly busy is a badge of honor; the busier you are, the more important you must be. What the narrative proposes is that neglecting well-being in favor of productivity is virtuous. Especially as an entrepreneur, stress is going to play a role in your life, so learning how to deal with it is very vital. One of the best ways to work is self-care. You can choose behaviors that balance the effects of emotional and physical stressors such as exercising, eating healthy foods, getting enough sleep, meditation, and relaxing techniques. Build a Morning Routine A routine is critical for well-being. You have most likely heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it's true. Breakfast jump-starts your metabolism and gives you the energy to kick start your day. Get into the habit of drinking two glasses of water to remain hydrated throughout the morning, this will not only ensure that your body has sufficient fuel to power you throughout your day, and will also improve your focus. Build Hobbies Hobbies force you to take a break from your day-to-day stresses and carve out time to devote to yourself. Not all hobbies are hitting the gym or boxing but hobbies like reading, writing, designing, and learning a new language can keep you productive and instill you with a sense of purpose having fun and the more time you devote to become immersed in your hobby, the more satisfaction and sense of achievement you will get.MENTAL HEALTH TIPS FOR ENTREPRENEURS Build a Network of Like-Minded People You’ve heard of a business network, social network but how do we find like-minded people? Alongside building a team to support you with business tasks, try building a support network of stakeholders who care about you and your business alife. These can be friends, family, suppliers, mentors, or customers. Do things for others Helping others isn't just good for the people you're helping; it's good for you too. Helping someone can help with your self-esteem and make you feel good about your place in the world. Feeling as though you're part of a community is a really important part of your mental health. You could try volunteering for a local charity, or just being neighborly

My congratulations to your program." Lic. Gabriela Ruiz de Arosemna Attorney AFRA Law Firm Panama City, Panama "It was refreshing to attend a class with such a dynamic and courteous teacher. I wish I had learned my English with teachers like you." Patricia Monjes Mc Hugh Abogada Superintendencia de Seguridad Social "It is my experience that American legal matters are not addressed by institutions and continuing education programs in Chile... After taking the Legal-Ease seminar, I now feel that I have a broader command of American Legal Vocabulary. I recommend your course to all my fellow colleagues." Jose Francisco Silva Coca-Cola S.A. Santiago, Chile "The seminar is invaluable to lawyers who in one way or another use Anglo-Saxon terminology in their professional lives. If one needs to write documents for national clients, or international clients,or for lawyers in those countries. The clarity and knowledge of the teacher, the quality of the provided materials, guaranty, a complete knowledge, which we need in our professional activity. I hope that there will be many more seminars here in Chile." Francisco J. Fontaine, Esq. Santiago, Chile "It was wonderful to have the opportunity to attend a seminar on legal English. The importance of Continuing Education

Continuing Education is required for workers to stay current with the latest developments, skills, and new technologies required for their fields, certain professions also require continuing education to comply with laws, remain licensed and certified, and maintain membership in an association of the licensing body. Continuing education can boost an employee’s career in several ways. On the surface, it may seem like these extra courses and certifications only solely benefit employees. However, continuing education is also a great investment for employers and businesses. it can be tough to decide to invest in it. Investing in your employees through a continuing education program is an important step toward growing your business. Below are the three reasons that you should consider implementing a continuing education program in your organizations . BOOST IN PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIENCY This is one of the strongest reasons to invest in continuing education for your organization. It is a simple concept, the more a person becomes skilled at their job, the more work can be done in less time. This can create a cascading effect for your organization, where efficiencies gained in one area or department can positively affect other business segments as well. THE REDUCED COSTS Besides increasing productivity, increased job proficiency through continuing education can also lead to reduced costs. This can be realized through multiple scenarios: ● Less Employee Turnover ● Fewer mistakes that require redone work ● Reduced downtime (fewer problems) PASSION AND PURPOSE Fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development is a critical piece in demonstrating to your employees that you can recognize them as people with hopes, dreams, and convictions. A learning and development culture encourages your employees to get better which will, in turn, make your organization better. A learning and development culture promotes growth, awareness, and an opportunity to focus on learning and developing the strengths of your employees. Think about it, if your employees are set up for success and growth within your organization, they will stay with you. Providing opportunities for your employees to discover their passions and aligning them with their job duties creates purpose. And when every member of your team is aware of their purpose, anything is possible

Guide to Legal English

GUIDE TO LEGAL ENGLISH Proficiency in legal terms and terminologies is very important for legal professionals irrespective of their state or country, native English speakers or non-native speakers, the increase in Legal English is due to globalization and international business. It is one of the many forms of English that is used in law. In other words, it’s a technical language specially originated as a language for legal professions such as judges, lawyers, legal assistants, and attorneys. Legal English is not a native language for these professionals. Therefore, it is compulsory to learn this language from a technical context to stand out from the crows and perform well in the field of law. Learning legal terms is important for your career if you are studying law regardless of the country. The main reason is because of the rise in globalization and international startup businesses since a lot of people study from one country to another and implement their theory by moving to another country. You must be able to communicate well while interacting with others. The law industry has a very distinct language that anyone needs to master if they’re going to make it in the field. Particularly when you consider that this type of English is used internationally. Learning English alone isn’t enough -- this is a very specific language and international law firms expect their lawyers to have a clear grasp of the specialist vocabulary required for legal matters. It’s vital that the correct words are used in the right context and that all parties understand the meaning of the document presented to them and that means anyone dealing with drafting or contract needs to have a thorough grasp of this style of English unless they want to be responsible for costly errors. It is not only vital in the more technical aspects of the law industry, but also at the levelest employment. Being proficient in such matters often forms a huge part of law firms' recruitment processes and that means the importance of learning legal English can never be underestimated. Fail to have a thorough grasp of the law vocabulary and you simply won't be able to progress in the field of law, so make sure you’re familiar with such complex terminology or undertake necessary training like Legal Ease International and you’ll be able to mark in the international arena without a thing holding you back. Legal Ease International is an online platform which teaches you Legal English from scratch with very well experienced instructors. When you enter the international industry as a corporate qualified lawyer, you will come across various clients in the country you shifted to, you will have to use all the legal terminologies that other lawyers use in that region. For example, if you studied from the United Kingdom and want to practice in the United States, you will most likely interact with US attorneys. To talk to them regarding legal matters, you must adapt their legal language.

The innovation of Technolgy in Law

THE INNOVATION OF TECHNOLOGY IN LAW Technology is the catalyst by which the world turns. Over the past several years, technology has had a significant impact on the practice of the law. With the rise of the internet, average Americans have much larger access to legal information than any other over the past several decades. We are living in a technologically advanced age. Like everything else, the legal practice is wired in and integrating technology into every aspect of litigation, The attorneys who do not take advantage of these tools will have trouble keeping up. If you want an attorney who will win your case, you have to find attorneys with the technological edge. Let's consider the fact that a tech-savvy attorney increases your odds of winning the case. Artificial Intelligence will Transform the Field of Law. The law touches every corner of the business world, virtually everything that companies do --sales, purchases, partnerships, mergers, and reorganizations. They do via legally enforceable contracts. Whether we recognize it or not, each of us operates the backdrop of our legal regime and the implicit possibility of litigation. Conventionally viewed as a cost center and largely overlooked by entrepreneurs, the legal function has seen little innovation in recent years. Today, Microsoft Word and email remain the dominant digital tools that legal teams use to carry out their work. Considering the size of the legal market, this represents a significant opportunity for value creation. As artificial intelligence, and in particular natural language processing, continue to mature, they will unlock massive opportunities to transform and revitalize the field of law Drafting the Legal Documents Google Document is the top program for attorneys to draft documents. Google document provides attorneys with powerful and easy-to-use tools and templates. They can rehash case law that was previously researched to expound the contours of a legal defense and create new material at a moment's notice and they save all the documents on a computer hard drive. Before computer programs were available, attorneys were reliant on typewriters, word processors, and hand-written documents to submit anything to the court, these documents took extensive effort to proofread, type and reproduce on paper. The Tech Gadget in Pocket An attorney can now do research and jot down notes concerning a case, no matter where he may be, A mobile application allows attorneys to brainstorm and figure out winning strategies while they are waiting for a restaurant to prepare for dinner. Because 95% of legal work is cognitive, it is easy for attorneys to figure out a case and record key points on a smartphone. they can even use audio recordings that can then be transcribed into text for memorizing the ideas. Electronic Filing Electronic filing changed, how documents are received from the courts and filed. Attorneys no longer have to hunt through filing cabinets and briefcases to find relevant case materials. They can simply organize all the filings in a case by using computer folders named after the client. They can break down the filings even further by separating the filings into different states of litigation, such as pre-trial motions, discovery, objections, and appeals. Electronic Filing virtually eliminates the risk of documents being lost in the mail or delayed, and attorneys can now procrastinate and still meet the strict deadlines. Detailed Research Facility Personal computers have opened up a huge door for attorneys to access specific case-law decisions that may have taken a lifetime to come across the old-fashioned way. Because the laws are becoming more complex, it is necessary to have factually specific cases to persuade judges to rule in your favor. Conclusion Technology is an integral resource in the legal delivery process. It is not replacing lawyers but it is contributing to the demise of traditional legal culture, replacing it with a diverse, competitive, customer-aligned, accessible, and cost-effective one where ‘legal professionals' deploy technology and process to solve business challenges. The legal industry is entering a brave new world, and the old one is not coming back. Technology is not a panacea but it is a potent collaborative tool enabling lawyers to expand legal access to an enormous swath of new consumers and better service existing ones.

COMMON GROUND : Legal-Ease International Goals..... A STORY

Common Ground: Legal Ease International Goals Eric is an accomplished corporate lawyer for a multi-national company that is always looking for expansion opportunities. Therefore, he knows better than to be complacent. He needs to make sure that he is updated with the latest news about business and in addition, he needs to be on top of the game where legal English language is concerned. In order to be efficient, he knows that he needs to communicate well. Sadly, he admits to himself that he does not really get a lot of “genuine” interaction with other people. Mostly, his communications are purposeful. Although he attends Legal Ease International events to improve his legal English skills, it offers a lot more than the technicalities and training. One of the things he love most about these events is getting to know other people and through the other participants, getting to know more about the culture and the business atmosphere in the places where they are from. He loves that he gets to talk to real people with real stories. He adjusted his glasses and made sure that his tie is perfectly in place. The setting is quite familiar and memories of past events and people he met on those events. There was Miss Laine from Mexico who invested in an online venture but lost all of her money just because she just did not understand the terms that she signed clearly. Now, she wants to make sure that she fully understands everything that she should before she makes another investment. She also loves cat and owns a Persian that she named Venom. Another interesting person who stayed in touch even after the event was Liam, a real estate investor in Guatemala. He is the only one in their family who got into college and became successful in business. He participates in different trainings and seminars to make sure that he has the skills to stay on top and secure a good future for the rest of the family. Mr. De Niro was a retired teacher who wants to put his retirement money into good use. He decided to put up his own restaurant in Honduras. Great weekend. from Legal-Ease International

Legal-Ease International...A story

Legal-Ease International.... A Story Alex chose her outfit carefully. She wanted something that looks relaxed yet professional, something that would allow her to move freely yet appropriate for her age and her profession. She took one last look at the clothes that she brought with her and chose a romper and a blazer – the perfect outfit. She grabbed a pair of gladiator heels and went to the function hall. The door opened and she saw other lawyers and law students of different ages, colors, shapes, and sizes. Everyone was smiling excitedly. Alex sat down next to a guy with kind eyes. “Hi!” she greeted him before sitting down. “Hello!” he greeted back. “Is this your first time here?” Alex asked. “Yes and I am really excited about it. I read good things about Legal Ease International and I am finally here to experience it,” he answered. “Oh yes, I have attended this event for three consecutive years. I love everything – the new knowledge, the experts, the fun activities, the productive workshops, and the most interesting people. The name is Alex, by the way,” Alex shared. “I’m Joaquin. I really hope to learn a lot here and I am also hoping to make new friends. I am a corporate lawyer who is looking forward to learning and for other options that I can explore,” Joaquin said. After a lecture, they were assigned to smaller groups. Alex and Joaquin found themselves together in a group with five other participants. They were asked to tell the group something about their lives and their work. During the small group discussion, Alex learned a lot of things in addition to what she learned in the lecture. Mr. Leonard works in the Public Attorneys’ Office and he handled many different kinds of cases for the poor but the most interesting one was of those who invested what little money they had to a networking scheme that turned out to be a scam. Honey Lee was a law student who is working on her thesis. She asked practicing lawyers for some help in answering some questionnaires and they were just happy to help her with it. Red is an adventurer with three degrees under his belt. He is a lawyer, an accountant, and a teacher. He teaches in a university most days and he goes hiking on the others. He likes to keep busy and learning in these events including Legal Ease International really matters. Mrs. Rubias is a retired lawyer who is now a part-time consultant in a law firm. She once ran to become the mayor but she failed to make it. Maria is another law student who is inclined to politics. She shared the weirdest things that she knows about different nation’s political practices. She heard about Legal-Ease International from a friend of hers and went to www.legalenglish.com/seminars/ and registered for a class with Dena Falken her instructor. This is what Alex loves most about Legal Ease International – making friends with people of all walks of life. She learns a lot more than what she expected to and she develops life skills and practice being a people person too!
